We arrived in NYC last thursday night (24th april) and met Delise at the airport! We hopped in a taxi and made our way to the hotel, which was very nice considering the budget price we paid for it. Shared bathrooms but a nice spacious clean room, with enough floor space for Delise to crash on the floor.
We dumped our stuff and headed out to explore the local area. We were staying on E 17th street in Grammercy, which is a cute residential area with nice bars and some shops at Union Square.
After walking for a little while around the area we stopped for a pizza slice before heading back to the hotel to crash after a long day travelling, and to be ready for a bumper day the next day.
I’m hungry, oh so hungry and waiting for a Chinese to be delivered!
I’ve had a fairly busy week preparing for Audit at work, and not getting anything of my own stuff done. I’ve got like the hugest pile to go back to on Monday. DREAD!
I got my tickets for the LLGFF, all 11 of them! hurrah. There’s still more that I’d like to se, but I’ll wait till closer to the time to see if I can afford it. Can’t wait though!
I’m so skint right now, can’t wait for pay day to come!! Bring on Thursday, along with its long Easter weekend!!
I had a fun weekend, Badass and Jennie came down from Edinburgh to stay with us for the weekend.
Friday night I went out to Tinseltown in Farringdon with Kev, Vic and Rumina from work for shakes and burgers, in celebration of them passing their exams. Had the most divine peanut butter cup flavour shake. It actually had peanut butter cups blended into it, yum yum yum!! After that Kev took us to Soho House for a drink, well swanky and posh, It was a really nice having a night out with the peeps from work.
Then I went to meet Badass and Jennie at the train station and came back to our flat, where we all got horrendously drunk singing and dancing!
Saturday we did some touristy things in the morning, shopping in the afternoon (I bought a bandana type scarf thing from H&M, stepping out the box!) , and then went to see Spamalot in the evening. I was really unsure if I wanted to see it, not being the biggest Monty Python fan, but I loved it. It was really silly but pretty darn funny as well. Then we came back and
On Sunday we went out to the shops again for a bit, then had a walk along the South Bank, and took in the fair trade festival.
Why is it that my toiletries all run out at once? I swear that my shampoo, conditioner, deodorant , hair gel and toothpaste all ran out this morning! Grrr, which meant an expensive trip to boots the week before pay day.
I couldn’t turn off Queer as Folk yesterday, and ended up watching 8 episodes till 1.30am. Needless to say I was tired all day at work, woops!!
I love lazy days, and I love lazy weekends even more! Hence I have loved this weekend!
I’ve hardly left the house at all. Yesterday I went to Tesco’s for the weekly shop, and that’s about it. I started playing Eledees again for the first time since I got it. When i sent my Wii away for replacement a few months ago I lost my Eledees save game, and had to start again from scratch. It didn’t take me long to get to back to where I was, and much further. Its not a great game, and more infuriating that I remember it, but pretty easy to get through.
Today I’ve played some more, and had a bit of a Queer as Folk Season 4 marathon.
I’ve been with Livejournal for years now, paying to write in a journal that I never update, how stupid is that. So I thought that its maybe time to start my own blog, on my own site that I also pay to host. whats the point in paying for LJ and my site when I can pay for just one and get better integration. My paid time over there ends on the 2nd March anyway.
So, what do i plan to do with this blog I hear you ask, or maybe not ask, as you know i’m rubbish at updating! but at least I’m not gonna be paying to not update this time! haha
